Keratin, Botox or Nano Plastia: Which Hair Treatment Actually Lasts

There is a moment that happens at our salon almost every week.

A woman sits down in the chair, opens her phone, and shows us a screenshot. Sometimes it is a reel. Sometimes it is a friend's hair from a wedding. And then she says the sentence we have heard hundreds of times: "Apu, ami eirokom chul chai. Konta korle hobe?"

It is a fair question. It is also the wrong first question, and that is not her fault. Nobody explains this properly. Salons list names on a menu, Instagram shows results without context, and the customer is left choosing between words she has never been taught the meaning of.

The real first question is not which one, it is how long

Before any of the names matter, there is one thing you need to decide, and it changes everything that follows. Do you want your hair smooth for a few months, or for most of the year?

That single answer splits every hair treatment into two families. Everything else, the brand, the price, the process, sits underneath it. One family lasts around three to four months. The other stays with you for eight months and often longer. They are not competing products. They are answers to two different lives.

Treatments that repair, not transform

These are the ones we reach for when your hair is not asking to be changed, it is asking for help. Frizzy after a summer of humidity. Rough at the ends because you have been tying it wet. Dull, thirsty, breaking a little more than it used to. That is not a hair type problem, it is a hair condition problem, and condition can be repaired.

A bond repair works inside the hair, on the bonds that heat and colour and time have weakened. A smoothing spa or a Korean hair smoothing calms the frizz on the surface. A nano treatment or a keratin spa feeds protein back into hair that has been stripped of it.

What they share is this: they make your hair behave like a better version of itself. They do not make it straight and they do not change its structure, which is exactly why they last three to four months. They start from Tk 1,500 to Tk 2,500, so you can try one without a serious decision hanging over it.

The Shine Set: treatments that change the hair

If you have spent years fighting your hair every morning, if you own three straighteners, if you have stopped wearing your hair open in June, if you have quietly accepted that your hair and Dhaka's weather are enemies, then you are not looking for repair. You are looking for a truce.

That is what our Shine Set does. These treatments restructure the hair and they hold for eight months or more.

Keratin Treatment is the one most people have heard of, and for good reason. It smooths, it adds a soft shine, and it keeps a natural movement. Your hair still looks like your hair, just calmer. It starts at Tk 12,000 for short hair.

Brazilian Botox is not botox, despite the name, and it does not freeze anything. Think of it as a deep filling treatment. It works best on hair that is damaged, porous and chemically tired, the kind that has been through colour and heat and needs body back before it needs straightness. From Tk 15,000.

Premium Omega is our choice for hair that is both thick and dry, where a standard keratin would soften the frizz but not quite tame the volume. From Tk 17,000.

Premium Nano Plastia is the most advanced thing on our menu. It goes deeper than the others, holds the longest, and produces that glass smooth finish people screenshot from reels. It is also the most expensive, from Tk 20,000, and we will be honest with you: not everyone needs it. Hair that is fine, healthy and only slightly wavy will look beautiful after a keratin and will not look meaningfully better after a Nano Plastia. We would rather tell you that than take the larger bill.

All of these prices are for short hair. Medium and long hair cost more, simply because they take more product and more time. The exact figure depends on what our stylist sees when your hair is down.

Where does hair rebonding fit

Many women come in asking for rebonding, because it is the word their mothers and older sisters know.

Rebonding is the older approach to hair straightening. It uses strong chemicals to break the hair's structure and reset it dead straight: poker straight, no movement, and a hard line where new growth begins. It works, and it is also the harshest thing you can do to hair.

The treatments above came later precisely because of that. They give smoothness without that severity, and they grow out softly instead of leaving a visible border. That is why our menu is built the way it is. If dead straight is truly the look you want, tell us. We would rather have that conversation honestly than talk you into something you did not ask for.

So which one is yours

• Hair mostly fine, fighting frizz and dryness: start with a treatment from the first family. Three to four months, low cost, no commitment.
• Hair coloured, heat damaged and limp: Brazilian Botox will do more for you than a keratin will.
• Hair thick, dry and heavy: Premium Omega is usually the right call.
• You want the longest lasting, smoothest result and you are ready for the investment: Nano Plastia sits at the top of our menu.

And if you genuinely do not know, that is fine. That is what we are for.

The part most salons leave out

A permanent treatment is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of a slightly different routine.

You will need a sulphate free shampoo. You should not tie your hair tightly while it is wet. Heat, chlorine and harsh products will shorten the life of the treatment. None of this is difficult, but nobody tells you before they take your money, and then eight months turns into five and you assume the treatment failed.

It did not fail. It just was not explained. We will walk you through the aftercare in person, on the day, for whatever you choose. That conversation is part of the service, not an extra.
